Is a women's trimmer worth it or should I just use a men's beard trimmer?

A men's beard trimmer will work on body hair, and if you already own one, try it before buying anything. The difference is the shape. Beard trimmers are built for flat cheeks, thick skin and jawlines. A women's body trimmer is shaped for curves, creases, soft skin, bikini line, underarms, the bits a wide flat head can't follow. 

We hear the scepticism, constantly "Men's razors are cheaper, it's the pink tax".

The pink tax:

Pink tax is everywhere, same product in pink with a higher price. So is a beard trimmer any different to a body trimmer? Yes, they differ in 3 ways.

• Head width: wide for cheeks vs narrow for curves and creases. 
• Guard design: beard guards are for sculpting length on a face, not protecting soft skin.
• Grip: for the angles you need to reach: If you're trimming forearms, a beard trimmer is genuinely fine and cheaper. If you're trimming your bikini line, the wide flat head is the wrong tool, not the wrong colour.

Men's grooming tools got purpose-built years ago, and women's options stayed stuck between borrowing his and using a razor.

What you pay for:

FAQ

Can sharing a trimmer with my partner cause problems?

Hygiene-wise, shared blades between bodies isn't ideal, dermatologists advise against sharing any grooming blade. Blades also dulls on their schedule, not yours.

Is the blade different from a beard trimmer's?

The cutting principle is the same guarded blade so it's not touching the skin. Ours is ceramic with a stainless guard, trimming to 0.8mm. The shape and head options are the real difference.

What about "women's" razors vs men's razors?

That comparison is closer to pure pink tax, razor blades are razor blades. Trimmers differ in optionality.

If I only trim my legs, should I save money?

Honestly? A cheap trimmer or his beard trimmer will do legs fine. Boosh is strongest below the waistline and anywhere flat heads can't follow.
